Now you can increase the speed of printing an underbase by at least 30% with a Double Blade Squeegee! Click on the videos tab to see Charlie Taublieb run a speed/output test using our Double Blade Squeegee.
Double Blade Squeegees are the single best investment you can make as an owner of automatic screen printing machines. Double Blades will significantly increase the opacity and resolution of your images while speeding up the printing process, here's how:
Plastisol is a highly viscous, thick ink, making it difficult to push through a fine mesh where the threads are close together. That is why screen printers often use coarse meshes when printing an underbase. The downside of using coarse meshes, however, is that the resolution of your final print depends on the resolution of your underbase. In order to push thick ink through a fine mesh, many screen printers opt to stroke their images twice - but that takes time, and time is money. The Double Blade Squeegee solves this problem.
After the flood bar loads ink into the mesh, the Double Blade Squeegee's first blade pushes ink through the mesh and onto the substrate. As some ink is still left on the screen, the second blade following within a fraction of an inch behind it is able to push the remaining ink through, giving you a higher resolution and stronger, more opaque print in a much shorter time than if you were to stroke an image twice with a standard squeegee. In fact, when industry consultant and screen printing guru Charlie Taublieb tested it out, he found a 30% increase in the amount of output possible with a Double Blade Squeegee! An extremely conservative estimate: if you print an hour or two per day, it pays for itself within a week.
- Our Double Blade Squeegees come with 55/90/55 durometer rubber for the front and 62/90/62 durometer rubber for the rear.
- The second blade increases ink penetration through the mesh while saving time (compared with using a single blade to stroke twice).
- Especially useful for pushing plastisol through small mesh openings.
- We only stock 16" ( 40cm ), all others are made to order.

This squeegee is our go to for white ink. Why wait for the machine to do the second hit when you can do it on the first? We also use this in combination with our roller squeegee to achieve a smooth print. We're really happy with our products from AE.
You can tell the difference with one job.
We only printed one job with is so far but could tell a difference.
This double squeegee saves lots of time and ups production on how many shirts can be printed in an hour. It also prevents too much ink to be deposited on a print when using a single squeegee on the second stroke - basically flooding the screen again.
This increased our production significantly. Would recommend!
We want both of our presses to have them for cotton and poly whites. Typically a single stroke does the trick, but definitely a double if we need a heavy white. This has been a real enhancement to our produciton. As always the Action Engineering products set the standard for quality and design.
The squeegee has increased our output for printing by about 40%, there is no need now to double stroke the white or black ink, which we primarily use the squeeges for, and the floodbar keeps the ink flowing within the design instead of piling up on the edges, so there is no need for stopping production and scraping the screen ink back in the middle. We are overall more efficient in our printing and customers are happy with the results.
From the second I opened the box I could tell this bad boy was the real deal. I did have to adjust my print angle once or twice, but within the first 2 minutes of having this piece of art attached to my machine I knew that my life would never be the same. The combination of the soft then hard squeegee is something you don't realize you're missing in your life... until you try it. The thought of using a single blade squeegee for my white prints ever again makes me want to vomit. I was however a bit nervous. I thought to myself, "will this put down too much ink on the shirt? will this feel like I am printing concrete sheets onto the shirts?" My tiny pea sized brain couldnt have been more wrong. Prints are smoother, flatter, and just all around more perfect. I would give this double ender a 10 out of 5 stars if I could! Must have for any print shop who has an auto, and cares about the quality of print, and time saved!
Making quick work of these thousand shirts thanks to this double blade squeegee. Can't wait to try it out on white and I will change to 5 stars
